Phnom Penh, Cambodia || The Airport

In Phnem Penh International airport your will find Prayer room (Surau), Halal Vietnamese Noodle and beef soup restaurant and of course money changers. You can also change Ringgit at the money changer.

Inside the boarding area (after custom) there's also another halal restaurant - taste of asia..

The airport lounge or Salon serves halal food also.. also available massage service at $10 for 30 mins.

--

Due to traffic jam you might need more than 30 mins to reach the airport from the city.

From the airport to Russian market took me about one hour.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia || The Hotel

Staying at Sunway Hotel u will feel like home.. got nasi goreng istimewa.. kiblat sign... astro.. visit malaysia book.. and all the room arrangement are so familiar. We've also got upgraded from superior to Exec King Suite. How cool is that.
Alhamdulillah rezeki
No worries in finding hotels here. It's pretty small and you can go anywhere by tuk tuk. Maybe 1km will cost u R10,000 (RM8.50).. REMEMBER ..BRING USD IS MUCH BETTER!!

Phnom Penh, Cambodia || The city

Roadside massage are everywhere. Only cost KHR 10,000 equals USD 2.5.. that is RM 8 !!!

I haven't check the exclusive massage yet. Will update

Many Halal restaurant available here in the city

There are 2 big markets - The Central Market and the Russian Market. I first went to the Russian Market (Toul Tom Poung), said to have more choices and better price.

Well, my review... DO NOT CHANGE YOUR USD TO KHR (Khmer Riels). You will end up paying more price in Riels compared to USD. For example... 1 small cushion cover cost USD 2 (RM6.20) but in Riels is KHR10,000 (RM8.50). Here u can use USD or KHR. So, just bring USD!

About the 2 markets.. maybe i like Central market more because it is less crowded.

----

Today i went to Russian Market again. Got (more) cushion covers and some souvenirs. So cheap, 3 fridge magnet is only R5,000 (~$1 ++). Four meter of silk cotton is about $9

Just bargain for your best price

----

We then went to Royal Palace by the Mekong river. So beautiful when sunset. An awesome timing

----

Bike shops are along Presh Sihanok street.

----

Getting some sleep now. Going back home tomorrow . Yay

Phnom Penh, Cambodia || The arrival

It only took 1hour 50 minutes to reach Phnom Penh. And the timing is (minus) 1 hour MY time..

Upon arrival PNH airport, there are cashier counters for VISA.. not necassary for Malaysians unless you are staying for more than 4 months.

When I arrived, EDC staff was already there waiting with my name on the arrival card. A driver and a lady Engineer **cant remember her name

Airport to Sunway Hotel near EDC normally take 30 mins but due to traffic jam at peak hour, it took us more than 1 hour. Most people here travel by motorcycle and tuk tuk.

We got lucky upon check-in when our room was upgraded to Executive King Suite because they somehow messed up with my booking. Hinsss!!

Whats good staying at Sunway Hotel is that u dont feel far from home. There's even "kiblat" sign in the room 😀

And owh... No need to bring international adapter ok... its using 3 plug pin just like in Malaysia

---

EDC brought us for a dinner party with all the directors and Managing Director at a nice restaurant not too far from hotel. Got to meet the entire participants, EDC bosses and of course, JEPIC and TOHOKU trainers from Japan.

We left the party early leaving them enjoying the night karaoke'ing'. Need to get some rest for tomorrow.

Nite nite

Phnom Penh, Cambodia || Intro

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

I'm travelling again.. to Phnom Penh Cambodia...

And this trip is special. It's one of my dua' during Hajj last year. Like a dream come true 😀.. well, I've been teaching locally in ILSAS and Sabah since 2008 and  I've always wanted to expand my wings internationally.

And guess what, this year I was nominated to be the trainer for Cambodia and Laos utility... This is a program under HAPUA and we will be working together with JEPIC, Japan in a 2 weeks course for  EDC Cambodia. EGAT was also supposed to be one of the trainer but I didn't see them in the final list.

I really look forward for this program and myself and Hj Zulkarnain (Protection) will hv to deliver a 1.5 day session on our topics - protection and Overhead lines of course!!

So, what about Cambodia?? I asked Mr Google.. he answered

Cambodia (i/kæmˈboʊdiə/;[8] Khmer: កម្ពុជា,Kampuchea, IPA: [kɑmˈpuˈciə]), officially known as the Kingdom of Cambodia (Khmer:ព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា, Preăh Réachéanachâk Kâmpŭchéa) and once known as the Khmer Empire, is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina Peninsula inSoutheast Asia. Its total landmass is 181,035 square kilometres (69,898 sq mi), bordered byThailand to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest.

Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia.. things to see here are the Palace, river and the famous Central & Russian markets.

To see Angkor wat you have to go 200km north - Seam Reap. Hard Rock Cafe is also available there in S.R.

Insyaallah I will update from my P.O.V in my next post..
